Madden NFL 22’s headline next-gen feature is ‘Dynamic Gameday’
This year’s game is available to pre-order now ahead of August’s release
Electronic Arts has revealed Madden NFL 22 ahead of the game’s release on August 20.
Featuring NFL Super Bowl champions Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes on the cover of all editions, the game is available to pre-order now for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC via Origin and Steam, and Google Stadia.
The headline feature of this year’s franchise instalment is “Dynamic Gameday”, which “leverages the power of next generation consoles to deliver the raw energy, emotion, and unpredictability of the NFL” across all modes, according to EA.
Dynamic Gameday is made up of three features. “Gameday Atmosphere” focuses on the crowds, environments and presentation elements of matchdays. “Gameday Momentum” covers performance-based mechanics such as home advantage and momentum shifts, and “Next Gen Stats: Star-Driven AI” uses real world player data, which is updated throughout the season, to influence AI behaviour.
Madden NFL 22’s Franchise Mode promises more comprehensive staff management and skill tree progression systems, while a new mode called The Yard includes a single player campaign and avatar progression that shares progress with the returning Face of the Franchise.
Customers who pre-order the pricier MVP and Dynasty editions of the game will be eligible to a free next-gen upgrade and three days’ early access beginning on August 17, among other features.
“Last year, we had more players than ever in Madden and we’re looking forward to bringing a new experience in Madden NFL 22 that will be more emotional, authentic and realistic with Dynamic Gameday improving gameplay across the game,” said Madden NFL 22 executive producer Seann Graddy.
“We’re always collecting feedback from our players to improve Madden NFL with each edition and in real time with our live service during the year. We’ll continue that approach this year, including doubling down on our commitment to Franchise, maintaining the momentum we started in Madden NFL 21, by delivering more of the top-requested Franchise features both at launch and throughout the season.”
