Lords of the Fallen sequel coming, PC version to be Epic exclusive

CI Games has confirmed that a sequel to Lords of the Fallen is in development.

The game is planned for release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC via the Epic Games Store.

CI Games said it has signed a deal granting Epic the “exclusive worldwide distribution rights… on the PC platform for the entire product life cycle”.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Lords of the Fallen is a reboot of the dark fantasy action-RPG of the same name that was released in 2014.

Developed by CI Games studio Hexworks, it was released in October 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Set over 1,000 years after the events of the original, it casts players as one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, who are on a mission to overthrow a demon God called Adyr.

Lords of the Fallen earned scores of 70 (PS5), 75 (PC) and 77 (Xbox Series X/S) on review aggregations site Metacritic, and hit one million sales 10 days after its release, according to CI Games.

Last week, an Epic Games Store database seemingly leaked many unannounced PC games, including The Last of Us Part 2, a Final Fantasy 9 remake and a Turok title.

The unofficial site, a SteamDB equivalent called EpicDB, went offline after visitors began publicly sharing lists of what appeared to be secret game projects, bringing it to the attention of Epic.

“We released an update so third-party tools can’t surface any new unpublished product titles from the Epic Games Store catalogue,” an Epic Games spokesperson told VGC.
