Lords of the Fallen reboot announced for PC and next-gen consoles

CI Games has announced Lords of the Fallen, a reboot of the dark fantasy action-RPG released in 2014.

The game was revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live with a three-minute trailer which is viewable below.

“As one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, embark on an epic quest to overthrow Adyr, the demon God,” reads the trailer description.

The game is being developed by Hexworks, a CI Games outfit founded in early 2020, consisting of two studios based in Barcelona and Bucharest.

It’s in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, powered by Unreal Engine 5.

“Taking place more than a thousand years after the events of the first game, The Lords of the Fallen introduces an all-new adventure in a vast, interconnected world, more than five times larger than the original game,” said CI Games.

“An expansive RPG experience – filled with NPC quests, compelling characters, and rich narrative – players will need to create their own hero before tackling the immersive single player campaign.

“They will also have the option to invite a second player to join their adventure in uninterrupted online co-op – a new feature for the franchise.”
