Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story will be released in March
It’s coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch
Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story will be released on March 13, 2024, it’s been announced.
The second instalment in Digital Eclipse’s Gold Master Series, which presents iconic games in an interactive documentary format, will be released digitally for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story tells the story of the influential British game designer’s career in the 20th century, via “a virtual museum of design documents, playable games, and all-new video features”.
Similar to its previous releases Atari 50 and The Making of Karateka, Digital Eclipse will be using its interactive timeline feature, which lets players progress through Minter’s story in chronological order.
As they make their way through the timeline and learn about Minter’s career, players will see photos, design documents, video interviews and other historical artifacts.
As the timeline reaches specific games, players will then be able to play them (or can simply choose from them in a separate menu).
In all, 42 games from Minter’s back catalogue will be available to play, including an unreleased demo game for the Konix Multisystem, the mythical never-released UK console.
