Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth gets a release date alongside 15 mins of footage
The game is set for release in January
Sega has announced a release date for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
The next game in the series formerly known in the west as Yakuza will be released on January 26.
Along with the release date announcement, Sega published two videos showing a total of 15 minutes of footage from the game.
The first video is a 10-minute story trailer, detailing the plot and characters from the game and explaining the backstory of protagonists Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu.
The second video is a 5-minute gameplay trailer, showing some of the things the player can do in the game’s detailed city.
“Two larger-than-life heroes brought together by the hand of fate, or perhaps something more sinister,” reads Sega’s description of the game’s plot.
“Ichiban Kasuga, an unstoppable underdog who’s no stranger to crawling up from rock bottom, and Kazuma Kiryu, a broken man facing down his last days.”
Players who pre-order the game will get a Special Job Set containing two new jobs (which appear to be a tennis player and an American footballer), as well as a Hero’s Booster Pack which lets the player level up faster.
Set to be released before Infinite Wealth is Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, a spin-off which sheds light on Kazuma Kiryu’s perspective following the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
Like a Dragon Gaiden will be released on November 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
