Like a Dragon Gaiden’s English dub is coming this month
The game is currently playable only in Japanese with English subtitles
An English dub for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will arrive this month.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio confirmed in October that the game wouldn’t include an English dub at release, but that a new language voice pack would be added in a post-launch update.
“We’re excited to announce the English dub for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is coming in December via a free update!” it said this week.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name took just six months to develop, according to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama.
In a recent interview with Automaton, he also said the studio once considered releasing it as DLC before deciding to flesh it out into its own game.
The spin-off, which takes place between Yakuza 6 and 7, tells the story of Kazuma Kiryu, who fakes his own death and disappears from the public eye to protect his loved ones.
Priced at $50 / £45, it was released last month for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. It includes a demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which is coming to the same platforms in January 2024.
