Life is Strange: Double Exposure sees the return of Max Caulfield
The story of the first game’s protagonist continues
2024 sees the continuation of the original Life is Strange story, in Life is Strange: Double Exposure from Deck Nine Games.
Revealed during the Xbox Game Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2024, the sequel features a now grown-up Max Caulfield, the time-rewinding protagonist of the original Life is Strange game and its sequel comics.
Now at Caledon University and having vowed to never use the powers that came to her in the original title again, she finds herself shifting into a parallel timeline as she investigates the death of her friend Safi, where she’s still alive.
“Several years after we guided her through Arcadia Bay, Double Exposure sees Max return later in her life, now an artist-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University,” Xbox’s description of the game reads.
“Unfortunately, calamity is never far away – Max’s friend Safi is killed, and we’ll be plunged into a full-on murder-mystery, with a supernatural twist.
“Max’s original power to rewind time has morphed into the ability to entirely Shift timelines, and we’ll be exploring two parallel realities – one where Safi is safe and well, and the other in the wake of her death – in order to discover the identity of her killer.”
Life is Strange: Double Exposure releases on Xbox Series consoles and PC on October 29, 2024. Pre-ordering the game’s Ultimate Edition will unlock the first two chapters two weeks early.
