Lies of P hits Game Pass a day early, ahead of Tuesday’s general release
The game was expected to join Microsoft’s subscription service on September 19
Lies of P has been added to Game Pass a day earlier than expected.
The game was previously expected to hit Microsoft‘s console and PC subscription service on September 19, which is the day it goes on general sale.
But in a surprise move, it was made available via Game Pass today, Xbox VP of games marketing Aaron Greenberg confirmed.
Lies of P is being is also being released for Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam. Customers who pre-ordered its Deluxe Edition were granted early access to the game three days ahead of its official release.
“Inspired by the familiar story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is an action souls-like game set in a dark Belle Époque world,” according to developer and publisher Neowiz.
The game currently has scores of 82 (PS5 and PC) and 84 (Xbox Series X/S) on review aggregation site Metacritic.
VGC went hands-on with the first two chapters of the game this summer.
“If you’ve dedicated your life to collecting every Bloodborne artbook and call yourself a member of the Cathedral Ward young team, Lies of P probably won’t fulfill your unquenchable thirst for blood,” we said in our preview. “From what we’ve played, though, there’s enough here that will probably give you a small hit of that feeling, even if only for a little while.”
