Sony has released the extended The Last of Us Part 2 TV commercial.

Announced at the PlayStation Experience event in December 2016, the flagship PS4 exclusive is set for release on June 19.

Set five years after the events of the original game—which has reportedly sold over 20 million copies across PS3 and PS4—it sees players take control of Ellie, who was a secondary playable character in The Last of Us.

Following a period of relative stability in the 19-year-old’s life, during which she’s forged meaningful new relationships, her world is shaken by a violent act that sparks a brutal revenge mission.

The advert features Ellie (voiced by actress Ashley Johnson) singing New Order’s True Faith.

Naughty Dog’s game has been delayed twice and major story elements leaked last month via several unauthorised gameplay videos, but anticipation for the title remains high according to Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan.

He recently said Sony has taken more Last of Us Part 2 pre-orders in Europe than it did for popular PS4 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man at the same point before its September 2018 release.

“We hope this’ll be a defining game for this generation,” Ryan said of The Last of Us Part 2 in an interview with CNET.

Sony released a 23-minute The Last of Us Part 2 State of Play episode in late May, including over eight minutes of brand new gameplay.
