Last of Us Part 2 video focuses on Naughty Dog’s ‘insane attention to detail’
Studio discusses the research processes that brought the game to life
Sony Interactive Entertainment has released the third in a four-part The Last of Us Part 2 video series.
Following on from story and gameplay-focused videos, part three centres on how Naughty Dog has attempted to bring the characters and game world to life with meticulous attention to detail.
“One of the things that makes Naughty Dog special is our insane attention to detail and that comes from just [an] extreme amount of research,” says studio vice president and Last of Us Part 2 director Neil Druckmann.
Narrative lead Halley Gross adds: “Our goal with this game is to create the most authentic characters that you’ve seen in a game. Not just Ellie, not just Joel, but that every character you see is dimensional.”
Sony released a 23-minute The Last of Us Part 2 State of Play episode on Wednesday, including over eight minutes of brand new gameplay.
Following two delays, The Last of Us Part 2 release date is now set for June 19.
Sony recently announced a limited edition Last of Us Part 2 PS4 Pro console and accessories.
