Last of Us 2 story video released: ‘It’s more divisive than the first game’
Regular videos to offer closer look at sequel
Naughty Dog has released a new video exploring the story of The Last of Us Part 2.
The video is part of a new series of regular videos the developer will be releasing over the coming weeks, with each offering a closer look at the PS4 exclusive.
Creative director Neil Druckmann said in the video that he believes Part 2 will be more divisive than the first game.
“Within the studio we’ve had a lot of philosophical arguments about some of the events that happen in the game,” Druckmann said.
“I think this one might be more divisive than the first game in a very kind of exciting way, that I think raises interesting philosophical questions and asks the player to interpret some of the material that’s there and see where they stand on those questions.”
The Last of Us Part 2 story elements leaked via several gameplay videos last month, showing new areas, cut-scenes and menus.
Druckmann said at the time that he was “heartbroken” by the leak.
Following two delays, Naughty Dog recently confirmed that the game has gone gold ahead of The Last of Us Part 2 release date on June 19.
Sony also released a new The Last of Us Part 2 story trailer last week.
