Lance Reddick, actor behind Destiny’s Zavala, has died

Lance Reddick, the actor known in the gaming world for his roles in Destiny 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and Quantum Break, has died aged 60.

According to TMZ, the actor, who shot to fame in roles on HBO’s The Wire and the John Wick franchise, was found dead at his Studio City home Friday morning around 9:30 AM local time.

“His cause of death is currently unclear, but our law enforcement sources say it appears to be natural,” according to TMZ.

Reddick had been due to appear on The Kelly Clarkson show to promote his role in John Wick 4.

Reddick was best known in the gaming world for his role as Commander Zavala in the Destiny franchise. The actor played a central role in Destiny 2 since its release and featured heavily in several of its expansions, including most recently, Lightfall.

Reddick is also known for his role as Sylens in the Horizon series of games, where he provided both the voice and facial capture for the character.

Aside from John Wick 4, Reddick was due to play Zeus in the upcoming Disney + series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
