Konami shows extended gameplay footage of the Silent Hill 2 remake

Konami has shared 13 minutes of Silent Hill 2 remake gameplay footage.

The video shows protagonist James Sunderland wandering the streets of Silent Hill, before entering and exploring the Brookhaven Hospital.

It also shows combat against a variety of monsters, including the game’s iconic nurses.

It ends with James meeting 12-year-old Laura, who runs away from him as a monster approaches.

The footage also seemingly confirms previous reports that James has received a makeover to make him look younger than he did in the original trailer shown for the remake.

It was announced during Sony‘s State of Play presentation that Silent Hill 2 will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8, 2024.

Bloober Team recorded a separate message to accompany the gameplay footage, explaining how important the project is to the team.

The studio explained how moving from fixed cameras to a full third-person camera was “a challenge” but allows players to see more of the world.

Players who pre-order the Standard Edition of the game will get a Mira the Dog mask and a Robbie the Rabbit mask for their character.

There will also be a Deluxe Edition of the game which includes a digital artbook, digital sountrack and a Pyramid Head mask for James, made out of a pizza box. It will also grant access to the game two days earlier.
