Konami and Bloober Team are working on a new game following the success of Silent Hill 2
The game will be “based on Konami’s IP” but isn’t explicitly confirmed to be a new Silent Hill

Konami and Bloober Team have announced that they will be working together again on a new game.
Bloober Team enjoyed critical success with its remake of Silent Hill 2, but now the studio will work with the publisher on a new title.
While it would appear that a new Silent Hill game would almost certainly be on the cards, Bloober Team’s statement simply says it will be working on “a new game based on Konami‘s IP”.
As such, it’s not yet definitively confirmed that the next game will be set in the Silent Hill universe.
“The trust built upon the success of Silent Hill 2 laid the foundation for signing another agreement for a new project,” the studio said in a press release. “The deal aligns with Bloober Team’s strategic plan to expand its internal development division within a first-party framework.”
It adds: “Although details of the project remain a mystery, it is confirmed that the game will be based on Konami’s intellectual property. Konami will continue as both the publisher and rights holder of the game.”
In a statement, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said: “Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself. By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality production together.
“Of course, we can’t reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are. We can’t wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right.”
Bloober Team is already working on another new game, which is set for release later this year. Cronos: The New Dawn is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC and is set in 1980s Communist Poland, a wasteland that has been affected by a plague known as “The Change.”
Silent Hill 2 was released last October to widespread critical acclaim, and currently has a Metacritic score of 87 on PC and 86 on PS5.
VGC’s Silent Hill 2 review says the remake “proves the doubters wrong”, calling it “a faithful take on a survival horror classic”.
“Silent Hill 2 is a skilfully handled retelling of one of the medium’s most loved survival horror games,” we wrote.
“It stays faithful to the original (to a fault at times) but breathes enough new life into it to simultaneously ensure that long-time fans will appreciate the respect shown, while newcomers won’t find it antiquated.”
