Kerbal Space Program 2 releasing in 2020

KSP 2 coming to PC first and consoles “shortly after”

Take-Two indie publishing label Private Division has announced Kerbal Space Program 2.

KSP 2 will launch in spring 2020 for PC on Steam and other storefronts, and “shortly after” for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The title’s in development at Star Theory Games (formerly Uber Entertainment), an independent studio “comprised of a team of engineers and designers with aerospace specialization who have worked on a variety of titles including Monday Night Combat, Planetary Annihilation, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and more”, according to Take-Two.

Star Theory is being supported by original Kerbal Space Program studio Squad, which sold the KSP IP to the publisher in 2017.

“With the original Kerbal Space Program having become one of the most beloved games of all time and now bigger than ever, Kerbal Space Program 2 has been fully redesigned from the ground up to meet the demands of modern and next-generation space exploration, all while maintaining the monumental foundations of the first game,” reads a post on the Kerbal Space Program website.

“Build a space program, construct powerful spacecraft, design resource-gathering colonies, and much more to uncover the secrets of the galaxy. A plethora of exciting new features will captivate veteran and returning players, as well as usher in a whole new wave of Kerbonauts to the ingenious and comedic world that has entertained millions of players.”
