Jumanji game coming to consoles and PC
Releasing this November, ahead of the next movie in the franchise
Jumanji: The Video Game has been announced for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Releasing on November 15, it’s the result of a collaboration between Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, publisher Outright Games, UK-based development studio Funsolve and Sony Pictures.
The Unreal Engine 4 game will feature online and split-screen modes for up to four players, who step into the shoes of movie characters Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin Finbar and Professor Shelly Oberon.
According to the official blurb: “Jumanji: The Video Game puts you in control of Jumanji’s greatest heroes as they seek to find the precious Jewels of Jumanji, save the world and find a way home. What’s stopping them? Only a deadly array of exotic creatures, dangerous locations and an army of evil marauders.”
The Jumanji film franchise includes 1995’s Jumanji, 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and an untitled sequel releasing this December.
Terry Malham, CEO of Ben 10 and Paw Patrol: On a Roll publisher Outright Games, said: “Jumanji is a property we have been eager to work with for a long time. Our specialty as a video game publisher is in producing high-quality interactive-entertainment for the whole family to enjoy and there is no brand more exciting for families right now than Jumanji.”
