July 2021’s PlayStation Plus games could include A Plague Tale: Innocence
An optimised version is being released next month for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
July 2021’s PlayStation Plus games could include A Plague Tale: Innocence.
That’s according to Resetera forum member Deluxera, who seemingly leaked the news on June 11 alongside several A Plague Tale announcements made at the Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase two days later.
Deluxera correctly predicted that the game’s sequel, A Plague Tale Requiem, would be announced at Microsoft’s event and be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. They said the sequel would be coming to PC and Switch too, which also proved accurate.
“Asobo will also reveal a next-gen remaster of the first Plague Tale game,” they predicted, ahead of the enhanced version’s official announcement on June 13. “If you are on Playstation 5 don’t purchase it right now as it will be included on the July PSPlus.”
June’s PlayStation Plus line-up includes Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, Star War: Squadrons, and PS5 spy adventure Operation Tango.
It is expected to be refreshed on July 6 – the same date that the optimised version of A Plague Tale: Innocence will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
A Plague Tale: Innocence was originally released in May 2019 and tells the story of a young girl called Amicia in 14th century France who has to help her brother escape the Inquisition and avoid swarms of rats during the Black Death pandemic.
The upgrade will allow players to play the game in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, with other visual enhancements applied.
Sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem will be coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch in 2022.
