Dragon Quest Builders 2 is coming to Xbox – and Game Pass

Square Enix’s Dragon Quest Builders 2 has been listed for release on Xbox and its Game Pass subscription service.

A listing for the 2019 construction game has been published on the Microsoft Store, marking it for a May 4 release. Builders 2 first debuted on Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation 4 in July 2019.

UPDATE: Xbox has confirmed the news.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: VGC’s 5/5 Dragon Quest Builders 2 review called the building RPG the perfect sequel.

“When you think about every part of the original Dragon Quest Builders, the sequel has improved on it,” our critic wrote.

“You can carry more stuff. Both the creative and RPG aspects are blended together better. You can build higher, more varied structures. You can automate a lot of the grinding and busywork. The controls are better, there’s online play… it’s an improvement in every way over what was already a very entertaining video game and therefore, highly recommended.”

It looks like Dragon Quest Builders 2 is coming to Xbox.

Dragon Quest Builders series director Kazuya Niinou left Square Enix shortly after the second game’s release, citing burnout.

Microsoft recently detailed the next wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass for console, PC and Android.

MLB The Show 21 joined Xbox Game Pass last week ahead of Phogs! (PC) and a Second Extinction game preview (console, PC and Android) on April 28.

They will be followed by Destroy All Humans! (console, PC and Android) on April 29, and Fable III (Android) and Fable Anniversary (Android) on April 30.
