Infinity Ward expands again with new studio in Austin, Texas

Infinity Ward has opened a studio in Austin, Texas.

The new studio, which will work on the Call of Duty franchise, is recruiting for several roles including UI and design.

Infinity Ward has opened a brand new studio in Austin, TX,” reads an advertisement. “The studio will work on creating new and innovative experiences for Call of Duty and create state of the art technology to power them.

“Our studio provides a safe, trusting, and empowering environment to unleash your creativity and help make the extraordinary.”

Infinity Ward was founded in 2002 and is the original studio behind the Call of Duty series. Headquartered in California, it also has offices in Poland, Mexico and Austin, Texas.

Infinity Ward established a new team in Spain earlier this year.

Working alongside Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile developer Digital Legends in the studio’s Barcelona headquarters, the new team is led by Riccard Linde, Infinity Ward’s director of art and technology.

“We’re building this new team, which will tap into the incredible talent here in Spain, to focus exclusively on creating industry leading, next-gen quality art for the franchise,” he said.

Activision confirmed in 2021 that all its core studios were working on Call of Duty, alongside other projects.

Infinity Ward’s latest release, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, was released earlier this month.

“Sold as a pre-order bonus and given about as much thought, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3’s single player offering is a short, shallow waste of time that feels less like a video game and more like a contractual obligation,” according to VGC’s review.
