Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s second expansion is out now
Guardian of Remembrance adds new story arcs, stages and playable characters
The second major DLC expansion for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is now available.
Guardian of Remembrance is the second of two DLC packs included in the game’s Expansion Pass, the first of which was Pulse of the Ancients (which released in June).
The Guardian of Remembrance expansion includes new story arcs, two of which are named Battle for Kakariko Village and Battle of Goponga Village.
It also includes new stages, such as the Coliseum from The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (before it was a ruin).
New characters will also be added – these include Purah, the director of the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab in Breath of the Wild, and her ‘subordinate’ Robbie. One other character will be included.
Before players can download and install the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, they have to first upgrade the game to version 1.3.0.
Koei Tecmo announced in January, just two months after launch, that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was already the best-selling entry in its long-running Warriors series.
The Nintendo Switch title, which was released in November 2020, had shipped some 3.5 million units by the end of December, making it the best-selling single title in the Warriors (‘Musou’ in Japan) series.
Koei Tecmo’s previous best-selling Warriors entry, 2003’s Dynasty Warriors 4, sold some 2.2 million units to date.
The original Hyrule Warriors game, which released for the far less popular Wii U console, shipped around one million copies in its first 4 months, according to Koei Tecmo. There are no specific sales figures for the 2018 Switch port.
