How to watch The Game Awards 2022 live stream
Thursday’s event promises world premieres, awards and musical performances
The Game Awards 2022 will be held on Thursday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and you’ll be able to watch events unfold live right here.
The ninth edition of the annual event promises to be a major production featuring musical performances from an on-stage orchestra and Hozier, celebrity guests, an awards show, plus a host of game reveals.
The main event begins on December 8 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET (December 9 at 1am GMT), with the pre-show stream starting half an hour earlier at 4.30pm PT / 7.30pm ET (December 9 at 12.30am GMT).
It will be viewable on various platforms including Twitch, Steam and Twitter, while we’ve embedded the YouTube stream at the top of this page.
The Game Awards creator and host Geoff Keighley has said this year’s show will be “significantly shorter” than 2021’s due to feedback from viewers.
He has also claimed that it will feature “30-40” games showing fresh content and “a fair number” of new game announcements.
God of War Ragnarök is nominated for 10 prizes at The Game Awards, ahead of Elden Ring and Horizon: Forbidden West, both of which are up for seven.
It Takes Two won the top prize at The Game Awards 2021, where it scooped three awards including the coveted Game of the Year.
Other headlines from last year’s show included the reveals of Alan Wake 2, Sonic Frontiers, Star Wars Eclipse, Wonder Woman and Slitterhead.
