Horizon Zero Dawn PC June promotion could suggest imminent release

Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched a 20-day promotion for Horizon Zero Dawn PC, suggesting the port could potentially release this month.

Retailers including Scan, Overclockers and Chillblast have begun advertising the deal, which sees a Horizon Zero Dawn PC download code included for free with the purchase of an AMD processor.

According to AMD’s terms, the campaign runs between June 10 and June 30, or when its supply of download codes is exhausted.

Guerrilla’s game makes the jump from PlayStation to PC in August

UPDATE: Guerrilla Games has officially announced Horizon 2: Forbidden West for PlayStation 5.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: As noted by VGC’s network partner Rock Paper Shotgun, the redemption period for AMD’s game bundles have previously ended after their respective games have been released, which could suggest a release for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC this month.

Currently, the official release window for port of the 2017 PS4 game is “summer,” according to the game’s Steam page.

PlayStation could also announce Horizon Zero Dawn 2 in its PS5 reveal event on Thursday. Ahead of the digital showcase, the original game’s composer teased a potential showing on Twitter.

VGC recently revealed that PlayStation and Guerrilla Games are planning a trilogy of Horizon Zero Dawn games, following the success of the 2017 original.

Horizon Zero Dawn was both a commercial and critical success, with sales surpassing 10 million and the team going on to win the 2018 BAFTA Games Award for Original Property.

PlayStation is planning to lay the groundwork for the PS5 sequel with the release of a Horizon Zero Dawn comic book series co-created by Anne Toole, one of the writers of the game.
