Horizon Zero Dawn comic book series launching summer 2020
Upcoming series takes place after the events of Guerrilla’s game
Titan Comics is to launch a new comic book series based on Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn.
Co-created by Anne Toole, one of the writers of Horizon Zero Dawn, with artwork by Ann Maulina, the original comic series takes place after the events of the game, which is set in a far future earth reclaimed by nature and ruled by animal-like machines.
“Talanah, a strong and determined hunter, struggles to find purpose after her trusted friend Aloy disappears,” Titan says. “When a mysterious threat emerges in the wilds, she sets out to hunt and to defeat it, only to learn that a whole new breed of killer machines stalk the land!”
The first issue of the series (cover art pictured, right) will launch on July 22 priced at $3.99, but it will be preceded by a one-off prequel comic book released as part of Free Comic Book Day 2020 on May 2.
Horizon Zero Dawn released for PS4 in February 2017 and has sold over 10 million copies.
Earlier this month, Sony announced plans to launch the open-world post-apocalyptic title for PC this summer.
It will mark the first time a major PlayStation exclusive game from a Sony-owned studio has been released for PC.
