Hogwarts Legacy has received a ‘holiday 2022’ release window
Window confirmed during State of Play presentation
Warner Bros. Games has confirmed plans to release Hogwarts Legacy during the 2022 holiday season.
The release window was announced during a State of Play presentation on Thursday, which showed off over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay captured on PS5.
Following the gameplay reveal, some of the title’s developers at Avalanche Software provided additional insight into what players can expect from the game in the following video:

Developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books.
Taking place during the late 1800s, it sees players assuming on the role of a new student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
“The attention to detail and the passion and the love for this brand that the team has is astonishing,” Hogwarts Legacy narrative director Moira Aquier said during Thursday’s presentation.
“Fans of the series will know that ancient magic has been around for a long time to say the least and that Hogwarts itself is a stronghold of ancient magic. And the avatar, the player, has the ability to sense it and possibly wield it or control it.”
Due to be published under Warner’s Portkey Games label, it was originally scheduled to be released in 2021 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
However, last year Warner delayed the game’s release window to 2022.
