Here’s a new look at Supermassive’s sci-fi horror game Directive 8020
The horror adventure has a confirmed release date
Dark Pictures studio Supermassive Games has debuted a cinematic trailer for its horror sci-fi game Directive 8020, and confirmed its release date.
Releasing on October 2, 2025, Directive 8020 will be available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Debuted during Sony’s State of Play on Wednesday, the game’s new trailer teases the dangers onboard the spaceship Cassiopeia, as well as new characters, environments, potential death scenes, and an alien threat.
Will Doyle, creative director at Supermassive Games, said in a statement: “The team at Supermassive Games has worked tirelessly to craft a narrative experience that melds sci-fi exploration with spine-chilling horror, where every choice could lead to a disastrous death.
“Today we’re unveiling some new layers to our story, exploring fragile alliances, unseen threats, and the limits of human resilience when faced with our deepest fears. We’re venturing into uncharted territory: the unsettling abyss of space.”
