Harvest Moon Switch remake confirmed for West with trailer

Reunion in Mineral Town out in Japan this year

Japanese game developer Marvelous has released the first trailer for its Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town remake for Nintendo Switch.

The remake of the 2003 Game Boy Advance RPG will be released on October 17, 2019 in Japan (with a Western release to follow) titled Story of Seasons: Reunion in Mineral Town.

Due to a trademark complication with its localisation company, Harvest Moon was rebranded Story of Seasons with its 2015 3DS instalment.

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town was the first Harvest Moon game released for the Game Boy Advance system. The game itself is essentially a remake of 1999 PlayStation instalment Harvest Moon: Back to Nature

It features a familiar premise to previous Harvest Moon games, with players tasked with building a successful farm with healthy crops and livestock.

The game received favourable reviews from critics at the time. GamesTM magazine called Friends of Mineral Town “an absorbingly deep and enjoyable game.” Computer and Video Games said “the game is so diverse that it’d take months, maybe years, to see everything.”
