Unlock a free reward each day by completing a match of Arena or Big Team Battle
Halo Infinite’s Christmas-themed ‘Winter Contingency’ event launches today and runs until January 4, 2022.
It will offer players the chance to unlock 10 unique holiday-themed rewards, with a new one rolling out daily until December 30.
These include armour pieces, an armour attachment, coatings for Spartans and weapons, a nameplate, emblems, and a special backdrop.
All players need to do to earn the rewards is complete a match of Arena or Big Team Battle each day.
After December 30, players will have a few more days to catch up on any items they might have missed.
Halo Infinite Season 1’s opening event, ‘Fracture: Tenrai’, debuted in November and offered players the first of multiple chances to earn samurai-themed armour pieces and other customisation items. It will return again later in the season.
Rewards for a Halo Infinite multiplayer event seemingly scheduled to take place in February recently leaked. They include a Claw Patrol Spartan Pose, Scorpion Punch Amour Coating, Mark V Zeta Helmet, UA/Mauros Helmet Attachment plus some challenge swap and XP grant tokens.
343 Industries recently extended Halo Infinite Season 1, which was originally expected to conclude early next year, until May 2022.
“We made the decision to extend Season 1 to give ourselves more time to ensure Season 2 meets our high quality bar and so we can finish development for Season 2 in a healthy and sustainable way for our team,” said Halo Infinite head of creative Joseph Staten.
“Importantly, with the Season 1 extension, we aren’t just stretching-out our original Season 1 plan. Indeed, we took this opportunity to add additional events, customization items and other content to Season 1 to make it an even richer experience from start to finish.”
