Halo co-composer Marty O’Donnell is running for Congress as a Republican candidate
“I never wanted to be a politician and I still don’t,” O’Donnell says
Halo co-composer Marty O’Donnell has decided to run for a seat in the US Congress.
O’Donnell, who composed the music for the early Halo games along with Michael Salvatori, will be representing the Republican party and intends to run in November against Democrat Susie Lee in Nevada’s third congressional district.
“I never wanted to be a politician and I still don’t,” O’Donnell said in a lengthy X post, explaining that he feels he has to try to do something about the state of the country.
“I’m tired of seeing the leaders of our country being influenced by the toxic divisions that are tearing apart our families and society. It’s time for me to step up and do my civic duty. To give back and try and change things for the better. If not me, who? If not now, when?”
