GTA 6 trailer release date was seemingly revealed by a GTA Online outfit months ago

The date for the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer was revealed months ago in an item of GTA Online clothing, it’s been claimed.

GTA Online is regularly updated with new missions, vehicles, events and outfits, and one of these outfits was given to players abducted by a UFO during a Sightseeing event at the end of October.

The t-shirt, which briefly appeared in the game’s June update before being removed until the October event, is simply referred to as the ‘??? Tee’ in the game, featured a number of symbols, along with a seemingly random array of numbers placed around the design.

As PCGamesN reported at the time the shirt first appeared in June, users managed to decipher the numbers as a coded message. The message read “ONEDAYWILLREVEALALL”, which in itself didn’t appear to mean much.

However, as Twitter user @_Dyllie_ spotted (which was then amplified by YouTuber LegacyKillaHD), a user on the GTA Forums had also suggested at the time that a date was included in the code.

They pointed out that the numbers included the sequence 12523, which it was theorised was a reference to December 5, 2023, the now confirmed date of the first GTA 6 trailer.

Rockstar Games confirmed last week that the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer will arrive on Tuesday, December 5 at 9am ET / 6am PT / 2pm GMT.

The studio announced last month that the game’s first trailer would arrive in December to mark the company’s 25th anniversary.

Rockstar confirmed in February 2022 that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series was “well underway”, but it didn’t provide any more details about the game.

However, in September 2022, one of the games industry’s most high-profile data leaks saw over an hour of GTA 6 development footage published online , giving players their first look at the sequel to one of the best-selling games of all time.
