GTA 6 publisher ‘fully expects’ to support Switch 2 going forward

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has said that the company “fully expects” to support Switch 2.

Speaking during the company’s latest financial results, Zelnick said that the company is very likely to support the platform.

While Take-Two has yet to announce any titles for Nintendo‘s new system, Zelnick referenced that Civilization 7 will be released on the original Nintendo Switch, which could suggest that the series will also make it to Switch 2.

“We’ve had obviously a long-standing relationship with Nintendo,” Zelnick said. “We’ve supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release.”

While Take-Two never released its biggest game, the 210 million unit-selling GTA  5, it did release several Borderlands, NBA 2K, and WWE 2K titles for Switch.

Zelnick also credited Nintendo’s changing audience as to why the company expects to support Nintendo’s next console.

“There was a time when Nintendo platforms were geared at younger audiences, that was reflected in our release schedule. Today, with Switch and potentially with Switch 2, the Switch device can support any audience.”

Nintendo officially revealed Switch 2 last month, with a teaser video showing the console and Joy-Cons. No release date was given, but Nintendo plans to reveal more information about the console in a Nintendo Direct broadcast in April.

Alongside Take-Two’s results, Strauss Zelnick has said that not only does he think AI won’t lead to job losses, he believes it could lead to increased employment.
