Gran Turismo 7’s next update will arrive this week, adding 3 new cars
And fans think they’ve managed to identify them from their silhouettes
A new Gran Turismo 7 update is coming this week, with three new cars set to be added to the game.
The game’s producer, Kazunori Yamauchi, tweeted over the weekend, simply saying: “Update is coming next week.”
This tweet was accompanied by another image of three cars in silhouette, similar to one posted in late April just before the game’s version 1.13 update went live.
Gran Turismo news site GTPlanet claims to have identified two of the three cars, but is unsure about the third.
According to GTPlanet, the top car in the image is the Toyota GR010, which Toyota created to perform as a Le Mans Hypercar.
This car was already expected to be on the way because there’s an upcoming online tournament called the 2022 Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup which uses the GR010 in one of its races on June 5.
The website claims the car on the bottom right of the image is the GoPro Rampage 1970 Camaro, which back in 2014 Yamauchi said would one day appear in a Gran Turismo game.
As for the car on the bottom left, however, GTPlanet is uncertain, but believes “the likeliest candidate at the moment” is a C3-generation Corvette.
The most recent major Gran Turismo update, version 1.13, was released on April 25 and added three new cars to the game (two Subarus and a Suzuki), as well as a new track – the Spa-Francorchamps 24h Layout.
Gran Turismo 7 brought in more dollars during its launch month in the US than any other entry in the franchise, despite a very rocky launch which saw it receive Sony’s lowest ever user score on Metacritic.
