Gran Turismo 7’s next update adds 3 cars and ‘new menus’

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.17 will add 3 new cars, a new international circuit, and new menus.

Update 1.17 will release Thursday, June 23 at 7am BST / 3pm JST and will add the Suzuki V6 Escudo Pikes Peak Special ’98, the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3 Version) and the 1932 Ford Roadster.

Also added in the update is The Watkins Glen International. An update on the PlayStation blog described the course as: “a historic road course found in New York State, roughly 260 miles northwest of New York City, which opened in 1956 and is surrounded by rolling hills.”

In addition to the new cars and the new circuit, extra menus have been added to the game’s Cafe mode.

These aren’t menus in the traditional sense, rather they’re literal cafe menus consisting of several cars that players can collect for rewards.

The following 3 Extra Menus have been added:

  • Toyota 86 Collection: Opens at Collector Level 20
  • Honda Type R Collection: Opens at Collector Level 20
  • Rotary Engine Collection: Opens at Collector Level 32

Sony has officially announced that the Gran Turismo movie will be released next year.

Deadline reports that the film, simply titled Gran Turismo, currently has a release date of August 11, 2023.

Neill Blomkamp (Demonic, Chappie, Elysium, District 9) is set to direct the movie, which will be produced by Sony’s Columbia Pictures studio.

The screenplay has been written by Jason Hall, who previously wrote American Sniper and Thank You for Your Service.
