Google ‘aware’ some Stadia Founders still haven’t received their orders
“I understand that this situation is less than ideal for all of you”
Google has said it’s still working to fulfil a number of Stadia Founder’s Edition pre-orders.
In an update published on Wednesday, a Google community specialist requested that Stadia Founder’s Edition customers who haven’t received their pre-orders contact the company’s support team if they’ve yet to do so.
“Founders without orders – The Stadia team is aware that there are some Founders that still haven’t received their orders,” they wrote. “If you haven’t already done so, please reach out to the Gstore support team.
“If you’ve already reached out to the team, they should be following up with you before the end of this week with an update. I understand that this situation is less than ideal for all of you, so thanks for your patience.”
Google previously said it expected to fulfil all Stadia pre-purchases within two weeks of the platform’s November 19 launch, with the now sold-out Founder’s Edition and the more recently introduced Premiere Edition shipping in the same order that orders were received.
Customers who pre-ordered the Premiere Edition began receiving their orders this week.
Once a customer’s Stadia bundle has been shipped, they’re meant to receive an email including a code to create a Stadia account, reserve a username and start playing on their PC or phone.
However, that hasn’t been the case for all players following the cloud gaming platform’s launch.
Google said on Wednesday: “If you still haven’t received your Founder’s Edition or Premiere Edition code, please reach out to the Stadia support team for assistance.”
The company has also reportedly reopened Stadia Founder’s Edition sales for some customers who had their order cancelled due to issues with the transaction process.
Earlier this week, Google began distributing Stadia Buddy Passes, which enable Founder’s Edition owners to give a friend three months access to Stadia Pro for free.
Google has hired a group of senior Assassin’s Creed developers for its new Stadia games studio in Montreal, VGC understands.
