GOG’s Winter Sale has added its third free game
Caveblazers is free to claim until Christmas Day
GOG’s Winter Sale has been updated with its latest free game.
Caveblazers is now free to download until December 25 at 2pm UTC.
To claim the game, players are required to opt in to receive GOG marketing emails.
“Caveblazers is an action focused platformer roguelike set in a fantasy world,” according to its product listing on GOG.
“Each game is unique with procedurally generated levels to explore and a massive amount of items, weapons and equipment to discover.”
Developed by Deadpan Games and published Yogscast Games, the title was released in 2017 and the PC version has a score of 72 on review aggregation site Metacritic.
PC Gamer called it “a varied, challenging platformer that’s adept at forcing improvisation and punishing mistakes in its 84/100 review, while Rock Paper Shotgun’s reviewer said it “captures the craft and chaotic delights of Spelunky better than anything I’ve played since Spelunky”.
Caveblazer is the third of five titles GOG will be giving away during its Winter Sale, which includes over 6,000 offers and discounts of up to 90%, according to CD Projekt.
The Epic Games Store will reportedly give away 17 free games over the Christmas period.
Epic’s Holiday Sale includes major discounts on some of this year’s biggest games, including EA Sports FC 24 for $19 / £16, Hogwarts Legacy for $24 / £20, Alan Wake 2 for $27 / £21.50 and Assassin’s Creed Mirage for $23 / £21.
Steam’s Winter Sale launched on Thursday and includes “huge savings on 1,000s of games”, according to Valve.
