God of War Ragnarok’s Jotnar edition is already being scalped for three times its retail price
The special edition went on sale in various regions today and immediately sold out
The premium Jotnar edition of God of War Ragnarok went on sale in some regions earlier today, where it immediately sold out and appeared on Ebay for more than triple its RRP.
The edition, which comes with several collectable items related to the game, including a 16” Mjölnir replica, first went on sale in Australia for $399.99 AUSD but instantly sold out.
Now the item is currently listed for as much as $1500 AUD on auction sites in the region – more than triple its original RRP. In total, 24 listings for the item are live on eBay Australia, all but one of which are above $1000 AUD.
It’s a similar scene in the UK, where the collector’s pack is currently being listed for around £600 on auction sites – More than double its £220 retail price.
The Jotnar pack went on sale via retailer Game on Friday morning and sold out immediately, with no products available as soon as a minute after they went on sale.
There are a dozen listings for Jotnar currently live on eBay UK for around £600. A similar number of listings for the Collector’s Edition (RRP £180) are also being sold for over £300.
It’s currently unclear if Sony plans to restock the Jotnar edition, but a listing on the PlayStation Direct website currently lists it as “coming soon”, despite the fact that the preorder campaign was supposed to begin this morning.
In the US, pre-orders will open at 10 am ET today when a similar rush is expected.
Elsewhere, the Standard, Collector’s edition, and Jotnar edition of God of War Ragnarok will go on sale at 10 am local time around the world today.
Retailer listings for the game have revealed several new features, including the supported graphics modes on PS5. “Switch between full 4K resolution at a targeted 30 frames per second, or dynamic resolution upscaled to 4K at a targeted 60fps,” reads the product description on retail sites.
