God of War Ragnarok spoilers are appearing online ahead of its release next month
The game is due for release in November
Fans eagerly awaiting God of War Ragnarok’s release should tread carefully online as new spoilers are doing the rounds and more are likely to follow.
A Twitter user (which VGC isn’t linking to) appears to have the game early and is posting screenshots of the game to his account. Significant spoilers are now circulating on social media as a result.
It is possible that this user is covering the game in a media capacity, and has failed to notice that his captured screenshots are being posted online, breaking the embargo.
Update
The source has now removed all of their screenshots, but they continue to be shared online by people who downloaded them before their deletion.
Sony Santa Monica creative director Cory Barlog also posted a tweet that implied he was aware of the leak:
This is the second time in as many weeks that a high profile game has been leaked early.
Earlier this month Physical copies of A Plague Tale: Requiem were mistakenly shipped early to some customers, leading to significant spoilers being posted online.
VGC’s preview of God of War Ragnarok called it “an improved sequel in every way.”
“So far, we’re impressed with how much better the combat feels, and while we expected the game to perform well, the boosted framerate and level of detail make the PS5 version a huge step up from the original game,” we wrote.

God of War Ragnarök was originally planned for release last year, but Sony delayed it to 2022 to help developer Santa Monica Studio deliver “a top-quality game while maintaining the safety and wellbeing” of its team.
Earlier this month Sony Interactive Entertainment also announced a new God of War Ragnarök PlayStation 5 hardware bundle.
