Ghost Recon Breakpoint open beta launch delayed

Ubisoft has delayed the launch of the Ghost Recon Breakpoint open beta.

It was scheduled to launch at 11am BST/3am PT/6am ET on Thursday and run until September 29.

“Ghosts, in order to guarantee a smooth experience for all players we need to finalize the preparation of our infrastructure before we can open the servers to everyone,” the company said on Twitter. “We apologize for the delay and will post an update ASAP.”

Update 1.09pm BST: Ubisoft has provided the following update: “We are currently investigating an issue that is impacting connection. Our teams are working on a solution and will continue to update you via this thread. We appreciate your patience.”

Update 4.30pm BST: Ubisoft says the beta is now live.

Original story continues: The open beta will be available to all players on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will feature new content not previously available during the closed beta in early September, including three extra main story missions and two new regions.

Participants will also be able to play 4v4 Elimination matches in Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s multiplayer mode, Ghost War.

With development led by Ubisoft Paris (with support from seven other Ubisoft studios), the second open-world entry in the tactical shooter series will be released on October 4 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC via Uplay and the Epic Games store.

It’s available to pre-order now via retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, ShopTo and Base.com.

Ubisoft has also further detailed its plans for the first year of Ghost Recon Breakpoint post-launch DLC support, which will include new story-driven and end-game content, additional classes, live events and PvP updates.
