Geoff Keighley is teasing a Saints Row reboot announcement at Gamescom
The Gamescom producer suggests a new game may be revealed at the Opening Night Live event
The host and producer of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event has teased the return of Saints Row.
Geoff Keighley posted a tweet showing a brick wall with graffiti on it.
The graffiti says the word “rebooting”, along with the Saints Row series’ iconic fleur-de-lis symbol.
The official Saints Row Twitter account, which has the same symbol as its avatar, responded with the eyes emoji.

Keighley’s tweet said: “We are ‘Bossing’ it with our announcements this year”. This could be construed as a further reference to Saints Row, because the player is referred to as The Boss in most games in the series.
The Saints Row Twitter account then replaced its Twitter cover picture with the same ‘Rebooting’ image. The official Saints Row website now shows the same image too.
The last Saints Row game was Saints Row IV, which was released in August 2013. The game had players, as The Boss, becoming elected as President of the United States and trying to save the world from an alien invasion.
THQ Nordic confirmed back in 2019 that a new Saints Row game was in development at Volition Studios.
The news was announced as the company provided updates on several of its key properties as part of its Q1 2019 financial results.
“Volition is deep in development of a brand-new Saints Row game, the first full entry in this much loved series since Saints Row IV was released in 2013,” it said at the time.
Gamescom kicks off on Wednesday, August 25 with an Opening Night Live showcase including over 30 games.
Opening Night Live will start at 10.30am PT / 1.30pm ET / 6.30pm BST / 7.30pm CEST with a half-hour pre-show, followed by the main event, which will last for two hours.
