Gearbox premieres Borderlands 3 gameplay videos
‘More planets, more boss fights and more loot’
2K and developer Gearbox have released the first Borderlands 3 gameplay footage, via a live stream event in Los Angeles, California.
Borderlands 3 is the biggest game in the series, claims its developer, with more planets, more boss fights and “way, way more loot”.
According to Xbox.com, the hands-on event focused on the single-player campaign, which is estimated to take “at least” 30 hours to complete.
“Players choose one of four characters, each of which has three action skills to unlock and equip, and a whole host of augmentations to offer buffs, special attacks, and elemental damage options.”
Announced in March, the PS4, Xbox One and PC sequel sees players battling against the Calypso Twins, a pair of villains who are uniting the bandit clans and “attempting to get their hands on the galaxy’s ultimate power”.
Gearbox has confirmed a Borderlands 3 release date of September 13, 2019. On PC, the game will be available exclusively through the Epic Games store until April 2020.
After support for cross-platform play appeared to have inadvertently been revealed by a Microsoft Store product listing for the game, publisher 2K said it was investigating the possibility of including the feature.
