Gearbox has shown off the first main trailer for Borderlands 4.
The trailer shows that the fourth main instalment will continue to offer the series’ trademark celshaded look.
It also re-confirms, as stated earlier this year, that the game will be released in 2025.
Gearbox says the game will have “the deepest and most diverse Vault Hunter skill trees of any Borderlands title yet, giving players an unprecedented level of expression through their builds”.
“Paired with the most expansive loot chase yet, players will have all the tools they need to seek out and perfect the build that best matches their style,” it adds.
Players will able to play solo or in co-op with up to three other players, with Gearbox promising “free-form combat and exploration, pulse-pounding boss fights, infinitely varied loot drops, and an eclectic cast of unforgettable characters new and old”.
Borderlands 4 was first revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live in August with a teaser trailer.
“In this next installment of the definitive looter shooter, players will assume the role of a legendary Vault Hunter as they blast their way through hordes of enemies in search of new treasures to loot on an all-new planet,” the description accompanying the reveal trailer read.
While the PC version of Borderlands 3 was an Epic Games Store exclusive for six months, Borderlands 4 is already available to wishlist on Steam.
