GameStop will hold its first PS5 in-store sale event for 43 days this Friday
UPDATE: Almost 1,000 stores are reportedly participating
GameStop has confirmed plans to hold a PlayStation 5 in-store sale event this Friday, March 11.
The event will mark GameStop’s first in-store PS5 restock for 43 days, the last one having occurred on January 27.
“Visit your local GameStop for a chance to get one in person,” the retailer said. “Must be a PowerUp Rewards Pro Member, quantities will be limited.”
According to internal memos leaked to tech site The Shortcut, the PS5 bundle available at GameStop on Friday will be priced at $795.
It will include the standard console, Gran Turismo 7 25th Anniversary Edition, Horizon: Forbidden West Limited Edition, a DualSense charging station made by PowerA, a blue PS4 HyperX Cloud headset, and a $50 PlayStation Store gift card.
It’s claimed that on average, just four to eight PS5 consoles are expected to be available at each participating GameStop store, but the number of stores taking part is said to be larger than was the case with previous restocks.
UPDATE: The Shortcut has listed 969 GameStop stores reportedly participating in today’s PS5 in-store sale event.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: GameStop made two PS5 Digital Edition console bundles available to purchase online on Tuesday, priced at $659 and $669, which were also reserved for GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro members.
Starting at $14.99, membership includes loyalty rewards, extra trade in credit, a Game Informer subscription, plus access to exclusive offers and events.
