GameStop will be selling PS5 bundles online today and in stores on Friday
They’ll cost between $659 and $795 and be reserved for PowerUp Rewards Pro members
GameStop is planning to make a fresh batch of PS5 consoles available to purchase online on Tuesday ahead of a rare in-store restock on Friday.
Digital Edition console bundles will be available today and standard disc model PS5s will be sold in stores on March 11, the retailer has confirmed.
All bundles will be reserved for customers with a GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro membership, which costs $14.99 annually.
UPDATE 11/03/22: The Shortcut has listed 969 GameStop stores reportedly participating in Friday’s PS5 in-store sale event.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: The following bundles are set to be made available online from 8am PT / 11am ET on Tuesday:
- PS5 Digital Edition, Controller, Charging Station, PS Plus, $50 PSN, $50 Gift Card System Bundle priced at $658.97
- PS5 Digital Edition, Samsung 1TB SSD, Charging Station, Red Controller System Bundle priced at $668.97
On Friday, a PS5 disc console bundle will be available at selected GameStop stores priced at $795.
It will include the console, Gran Turismo 7 25th Anniversary Edition, Horizon: Forbidden West Limited Edition, a DualSense charging station made by PowerA, a blue PS4 HyperX Cloud headset, and a $50 PlayStation Store gift card.
On average, just four to eight PS5 consoles are expected to be available at each participating store, but the number of stores taking part is said to be larger than was the case with previous restocks, the last of which happened on January 27.
Sony rolled out a new PS5 system software update today, which it claims improves performance.
And it announced plans to stream a new State of Play presentation on Wednesday. It will focus on announcements and updates for games coming to PS5 and PS4, with “a special focus” on highlighting titles from Japanese publishers.
