Gameplay footage of Creative Assembly and Sega’s Hyenas has leaked

The first gameplay footage of Hyenas has been leaked online.

The Sega first-person shooter, which is being developed by Creative Assembly, has been the subject of recent closed alpha tests.

These tests require players to agree not to share any footage or information of the game.

However, one user named Glitch3r has seemingly decided to abandon this agreement and share gameplay footage.

The video, which is currently on YouTube at the time of writing contains around an hour of footage of the alpha version of Hyenas.

The footage is heavily watermarked with a security code and Glitch3r’s username, meaning it’s likely a matter of time before it’s taken down by Sega, though now it’s online it’s likely to be saved and reuploaded by other users.

The first closed alpha test for Hyenas took place on July 14-18 and seemingly passed without incident, with no notable examples of footage being leaked.

The long-anticipated shooter project from Creative Assembly was announced in June, when the Sega studio described it as a “multiplayer, multi-team robbery game”.

It sees five teams of three battle AI and each other to steal loot from vast spaceships with zero-g sections.

As expected from previous teases, Hyenas is full of pop culture references including nods to not just classic Sega franchises, but other games such as Fall Guys and League of Legends.

Hyenas is scheduled to release for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC in 2023.
