GameCube is officially coming to Switch Online, exclusively for Switch 2

GameCube titles are officially coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pak, exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2.

Featuring clearer image quality and higher resolution, customizable controls, and online multiplayer support, GameCube titles will be available on launch day for Switch 2.

Switch Online’s first GameCube titles will include The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, F-Zero GX, Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokémon Colosseum.

A special wireless GameCube controller will also be released for Nintendo Switch 2, available on the same as Nintendo Switch 2, but it will only be available to those who pre-order Switch 2.

The platform holder has confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 will cost $450 / £395 and launch worldwide on Thursday, June 5. It has also announced when the console will be available to pre-order. 

Wednesday’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct also announced several new games, including a new Donkey Kong game. The Direct also confirmed what the mysterious C button will do. 

Nintendo has also confirmed that GameCube games are officially coming to the Switch Online service, alongside a new GameCube controller. 

Following months of speculation, Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch 2 will incorporate mouse control. 

Wednesday’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct opened with Mario Kart World, a launch title for the console.
