Gallery: Hallmark is releasing 13 video game Christmas tree ornaments
Mario, Zelda, Mortal Kombat, Kingdom Hearts and Sonic are among the series getting the keepsake treatment
The 2021 additions to Hallmark’s highly collectible Keepsake Ornaments collection will include 13 video game ornaments.
The most detailed one is shaped like a SNES console with Super Mario World in the cartridge slot. When a button on the ornament is pressed the console’s light turns on and music from the game plays.
Other ornaments include:
- Caped Mario – Super Mario World
- Personalised Mario – Super Mario
- Enderman – Minecraft
- Pixel Link – The Legend of Zelda
- Pixel Zelda – The Legend of Zelda
- Sonic & Tails – Sonic the Hedgehog
- Knuckles – Sonic the Hedgehog
- King Mickey – Kingdom Hearts
- Sub Zero – Mortal Kombat
- Charizard – Pokémon
- Donkey Kong – Mario Kart
- Crackshot – Fortnite
Some of the ornaments will be available from July 10, while others will launch on October 2.
The ornaments will be available directly from Hallmark’s US online store.
Hallmark has released video game themed keepsake ornaments in previous years. Its selection last year included an NES console (which also played sounds), Pikachu, Yoshi on a kart, an 8-bit version of Donkey Kong, a Pokéball, a Joust arcade cabinet, the gold Legend of Zelda NES cartridge and the Battle Bus from Fortnite.
