From Software boss Hidetaka Miyazaki has said he’s “very happy” to see fans calling for a Bloodborne remake.

Fans have long called for the studio to revisit the critically acclaimed and influential action RPG, which was directed by Miyazaki and published by Sony for PS4 in 2015.

Miyazaki, who also directed Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and most recently Elden Ring, was asked about a potential Bloodborne remake during an interview with Eurogamer.

“It is a title we hold very dear and just as much as our fans,” he said. “It does make me very happy to see that there are still so many people passionate about it.”

While not willing to comment on the chances of a Bloodborne remake directly, Miyazaki said he was delighted by fans’ ongoing enthusiasm for the game.

“Put simply, it makes me very happy to see it’s a title with a lot of specific memories, both for me and the staff who worked on it,” he said. “And when we see those passionate voices in the community, of course it makes us feel thrilled, it makes us feel very fortunate to have that and to have those memories.”

Naughty Dog recently revealed that The Last of Us Part 2 was originally intended to be an open world game inspired by Bloodborne.

It was announced on Wednesday that Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will be released in June.
