Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3: Wilds gets Summer Game Fest trailer
Optimus Prime will feature as part of the new season
Epic Games has unveiled Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3.
The new season, which is titled Wilds, was revealed during Summer Game Fest‘s live kick-off event on Thursday.
“Find out what Fortnite Wilds is all about when a squad uncovers what’s beneath the crumbling terrain,” reads the blurb accompanying the debut trailer, which is viewable below.
“Danger is afoot, but so is an adventure! Be on the lookout for mud, raptors, and vines as these will all play a key part in navigating Wilds. Plus, an Autobot bestows his likeness upon the Island.”
The Autobot in question is Optimus Prime. It’s currently unknown what his role will be, but the Transformers crossover continues a long line of pop culture cameos in Epic’s free to play shooter.
Downtime for the new chapter will begin on June 9 at 2am ET / 7am BST, according to Epic. Full patch notes for the update have yet to be released.

Earlier on Thursday, it was announced that the Epic Games Store’s latest free game is Payday 2.
Starbreeze’s four-play co-op shooter is now free to claim until June 15, when it will be replaced by Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and Guacamelee 2.
Payday 2 replaced Midnight Ghost Hunt, which was previously free to claim from the Epic Games Store.
