Fortnite Chapter 2’s Season 2 adds Deadpool and more
Secret agent-themed update being deployed today
Fortnite Chapter 2’s Season 2 update is being deployed today, with the update coming in at over 10GB.
The secret agent-themed Season 2 sees Fortnite’s island taken over by covert operatives, and among its new skins is Marvel anti-hero Deadpool.
You can see the trailer for Season 2 above. All versions of Fortnite are currently down while the update deploys.
Chapter 2 Season 1, which started in mid-October 2019, has lasted longer than expected due to “all the new holiday-themed updates” Epic deployed over the Christmas period.
On mobile, Fortnite generated more revenue than any other digital game in 2019, according to research from Nielsen’s SuperData.
Epic’s game generated $1.8 billion in 2019 to claim the top spot for the second year running, ahead of Dungeon Fighter Online ($1.6b), Honour of Kings ($1.6b), League of Legends ($1.5b), Candy Crush Saga ($1.5b) and Pokemon Go ($1.4b).
“The enduring popularity of Fortnite is partially attributable to crossover promotions with pop culture blockbusters like Avengers, Stranger Things and Star Wars,” SuperData said.
