Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 Battle Pass trailer has an aquatic theme
Water will play a significant role in the updated battle royale game
Epic has launched Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1, alongside details of the game’s new Battle Pass.
As previously rumoured, the Battle Pass trailer above confirms a brand-new map for Fortnite Chapter 2, with water set to play a significant role in Season 1 of the updated battle royale game.
The trailer features a waterfall, a lighthouse, high-speed boat battles, plus characters swimming and fishing.
Update, October 15: A Fortnite Chapter 2 update and a story trailer have also been released. The trailer shows off the new island map in further detail, as well as four new characters.
New features include the ability to heal teammates with the bandage bazooka and celebrate with group emotes. The latest update also introduces a “streamlined” arsenal of upgradeable weapons.
Original story continues: In a post on its website, Epic says the Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 1 Battle Pass includes outfits with hero and villain variants. Players get the Turk and Journey Outfits instantly when they buy the Battle Pass.
New ways to level up include upgradeable battle, survival and scavenger medals. “Earn XP and medal from a variety of in-game activities like searching chests, eliminating opponents, completing challenges, and more,” Epic says.
The Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks (about $10/£8) and players can earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks by playing and levelling it up.
Fortnite season X came to an end on Sunday night during a live event which saw the game’s map sucked into a black hole.
Epic recently introduced a skill-based matchmaking system for Fortnite battle royale’s core modes in a bid to create a more even playing field and said it plans to add bots to Fortnite’s non-competitive playlists starting in Chapter 2 Season 1.
