Former PSVR exclusive Jupiter & Mars is getting an improved Quest release
Definitive Edition is out this week with “countless updates” to gameplay and mechanics
Former PlayStation VR exclusive Jupiter & Mars is getting an expanded release for Meta Quest 2 this week.
Developer Tigertron says Jupiter & Mars Definitive Edition will feature “countless updates” including upgraded gameplay mechanics, new creatures, improved navigation, and a new music track from renowned Japanese DJ/producer Ken Ishii.
The Definitive Edition of Jupiter & Mars launches on the Meta Quest store on August 25 at a price point of $14.99.
Originally released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2019, Jupiter & Mars takes players on a journey through submerged cities like New York and London as they neutralize machines that are disrupting sea life.
The game was helmed by former Lumines and Child of Eden designer James Mielke, and aimed to raise awareness of climate change through its narrative, which has the titular characters working together to save the oceans.
VGC wrote in its Jupiter & Mars PS4 review that, “in theory, Jupiter and Mars has it all; collectables, skill upgrades, light puzzling, fetch quests – even an antagonist or two”, but criticised the game’s repetitive fetch tasks.
